Women's Hoops Stays No. 5 In USA Today Coaches Poll

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Behind a 9-0 start to the season, the Mississippi State women's basketball team remained at No. 5 in Tuesday's USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll.
The Bulldogs maintained their program-best ranking with a 72-50 victory at Southern Miss last Saturday. That win gave MSU its fourth-best start to a season in program history while keeping it the SEC's only unbeaten team.
Mississippi State returns to action Tuesday night with a 6:30 p.m. road contest at Little Rock. The Bulldogs head to Los Angeles this weekend to wrap an eight-game road trip in the Women of Troy Classic. State faces SMU Friday evening before challenging either host USC or Grambling on Sunday.
The Bulldogs remain the highest-ranked SEC team, one spot ahead of South Carolina. Kentucky is the other league team in the poll, coming in at No. 23.
