
MSU men's golf landed five new members of the Bulldog family on Wednesday.
Men’s Golf Adds Five On Signing Day

STARKVILLE, Miss. – After the best fall campaign since 2012, coach Clay Homan and the Mississippi State men's golf team inked five players Wednesday.
"We have put together an outstanding recruiting class for the 2017 early signing period. This is a talented group of young men not only on the course, but also in the classroom and in the community," Homan said. "I fully expect this group to elevate Mississippi State Golf to new levels and help us win championships."
Austin Fulton – Douglas County High School (Villa Rica, GA)
Austin Fulton is currently ranked 29th in the nation and 23rd in the class of 2017 according to National Junior Golf Scoreboard. Fulton is also ranked as the top player in the state of Georgia. Three Top 10 finishes at American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) events landed Fulton 2016 AJGA Rolex Junior All-American honors. These included a tied for sixth-place finish at the Under Armour/Scott Stallings Championship (70-73-65), a tie for fifth at the Rome Junior Classic (73-68), and a third place finish at the City of London Junior Championship (71-68-70). Fulton also recorded another Top 5 performance at the Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational, finishing fourth with scores of 68 and 69. Fulton got off to a hot start in the summer of 2015, finishing sixth at the AJGA Under Armour/Scott Stallings Championship (69-71-69) and fifth at the AJGA Davis Love III Junior Open (71-69-73). Fulton capped off his impressive summer with a win at the AJGA Junior at Old Silo with scores of 74, 72 and 65. Fulton will be the first Georgia product to don the Maroon and White since Joe Deraney in 2004-05.

Goodman Rudolph – Memphis University School (Cordova, TN)
Goodman Rudolph is currently ranked 92nd in the nation, 55th in the class of 2017 and third in the state of Tennessee by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard. Rudolph got off to a strong start in the summer of 2016 at The Wally in Tennessee, finishing T5th with scores of 72 and 67. Continuing his impressive play at the prestigious Western Junior Championship, Rudolph finished 10th with scores of 73, 69, 73 and 73. Rudolph reigned in two more Top 10's in AJGA tournaments this summer, finishing 10th at the AJGA Under Armour/Scott Stallings Championship (70-68-72) and third at the AJGA Toyota Music City Junior (75-70). Rudolph also played well at the Tennessee State Open, where he competed against both professionals and amateurs, finishing tied for third overall and was the second lowest amateur in the field (68-68-71). In 2015 Rudolph was named a 2015 AJGA Rolex Junior All-American. Rudolph's tournament results in 2015 included a dramatic win at the AJGA Under Armour/Scott Stallings Championship (70-68-67). Rudolph is MSU's first player from Tennessee since Tyler Smith in 2011-12. Rudolph's grandfather, Mason Rudolph, was a five-time winner on the PGA Tour and was also a member of the victorious 1971 Ryder Cup team.

Cameron Clarke – Bruce High School (Pittsboro, MS)
Cameron Clarke came on strong in 2016, finishing runner-up in the 2016 Mississippi State Amateur at Reunion Golf and Country Club with scores of 64-71-69-72. Clarke also added a runner-up finish at the Mississippi PGA Trustmark Invitational with scores of 69-72-70 and a fourth place finish at the Mississippi Boys Junior Amateur with scores of 71-72-71. In addition, Clarke garnered another fourth-place finish at the USGA Amateur Qualifier after shooting 68 and 72 at Tupelo Country Club.

Hunter Hammett – Oak Grove High School (Hattiesburg, MS)
Hunter Hammett had numerous Top 10 finishes across the nation in 2015 and 2016, none more noticeable than his dominating win at the Canebrake Club Championship in August (68-66-71). To go along with his win, Hammett finished seventh at the 2016 AJGA David Toms Foundation Shreveport Junior (74-72-72) and the AJGA Killington Junior Golf Championship (72-73-70). Rounding out his junior resume, Hammett shot 69 and 70 to finish fourth at the Junior PGA Championship Section Qualifier (69-70).

Benjamin Nelson – Madison Central (Madison, MS)
Benjamin Nelson won the 2016 Mississippi Junior Golf Association Greenwood Junior Invitational with scores of back-to-back rounds of 70. Nelson also claimed the 2014 Allstate Sugar Bowl Tommy Moore Memorial Junior Golf Championship with scores of 73 and 71. Nelson also finished ninth at the 2016 Mississippi Boys Junior Amateur (73-71-76). Nelson's father, Benji, was a Mississippi State Golf Letterman from 1990-92.
