
MSU Reaches Program’s Highest Ranking in AP Top 25 Poll

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State returned home from Hawaii undefeated, with a trophy and as the sixth-ranked team in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, the highest ranking in program history.
The No. 6 spot was clinched as the Bulldogs, 7-0, defeated Oregon, San Jose State and Hawaii to win the Rainbow Wahine Showdown in Honolulu, Hawaii.
MSU is the second-highest ranked SEC team in the poll, behind only South Carolina at No. 3. Kentucky moved up three spots to No. 17 while Florida fell three spots to No. 19.
Tennessee, Auburn and Texas A&M entered the poll this week at Nos. 22, 23 and 25, respectively.
The Bulldogs will return to action Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT versus Iowa State as a part of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. The contest will be televised regionally by Fox Sports Net.
