STARKVILLE, Miss. - On Wednesday afternoon on the new, permanent floor of Humphrey Coliseum, Mississippi State basketball coaches Ben Howland and Vic Schaefer talked with the media about their respective teams.
Schaefer's squad is coming off a 28-8 campaign and a trip to the Sweet 16, with the 28 wins setting a school record.
Howland enters his second year at the helm and has added the fourth-best recruiting class in the country. The talented newcomers, coupled with SEC All-Freshman Quinndary Weatherspoon senior point guard I.J. Ready back, there's a renewed level of excitement for MSU fans.
The women begin their season with an exhibition game on Nov. 3 against Arkansas-Ft. Smith, while the men play Delta State on Nov. 4. Both games are at Humphrey Coliseum.
