STARKVILLE, Miss – A first-place finish in the high jump at last Friday's season opener earned Mississippi State track and field athlete Logan Boss Southeastern Conference Women's Field Athlete Of The Week accolades on Tuesday.
To capture her first-place finish at the Purple Tiger Invite, Boss, a sophomore, tied her personal-best with a 5-09.75 clearance that ranks third in program history. Boss first leaped 5-09.75 at last season's Armory Track Invitational, setting the MSU freshman record.
During her freshman indoor campaign, Boss competed in six meets for the Maroon and White, including the SEC Championships where she finished 10th with a jump of 5-05.75.
The O'Brien, Fla., native also saw success in the MSU 2015 outdoor campaign, qualifying for the NCAA East Preliminaries with an outdoor jump of 5-08.75 to finish 18th.
“I'm very proud of Logan and all her accomplishments,” MSU coach Steve Dudley said. “She's worked hard to get where she is over the past couple of years. She's been a great asset to this team, and I think we will continue to see her improve as the season continues.”
Boss and the rest of the MSU track and field teams return to action this Friday and Saturday at the Commodore Invitational.
