STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State coach Vic Schaefer added additional Division I experience to his Hail State Hoops staff with the addition of Christina Richardson as the program's graduate assistant.
Richardson, a Katy, Texas, native, will assist with the daily operations of the program after serving last season as the Director of Operations at Siena College.
“I am extremely excited for the opportunity to join Coach Schaefer's staff at Mississippi State,” Richardson said. “From my time spent with them at Texas A&M, this staff is already family to me. I am blessed to have the chance to continue to learn from the best and be part of a program that has its best days ahead.”
Richardson is no stranger to Schaefer and his staff as she served four seasons as a student manager at Texas A&M, including 2011's national championship run.
“We are very fortunate to get someone with experience as a Director of Operations at the Division I level on our staff as our graduate assistant,” Schaefer said. “Christina understands the mentality and what it takes to be successful. She is a quality young lady and professional, and we are excited to have her on our staff.”
Richardson completed an internship with the program during her senior year, helping run and manage the Coach Gary Blair Charities Golf Tournament while also assisting the Aggies' Director of Operations with team budgeting, travel, video breakdown and equipment orders.
Richardson graduated from Texas A&M in 2014 with a B.S. in Sports Management and a minor in Business Administration.
She was selected to the International Dean's List Society and Sigma Alpha Lambda, the national leadership and honors organization.
