
Renfroe Promoted To Triple-A; Rooker Named Summer All-American

Renfroe, who led MSU to its ninth NCAA College World Series with an All-American campaign in 2013, hit .259 with 14 home runs and 54 RBIs in 112 games with Double-A San Antonio before getting called up to the Chihuahuas. The top prospect in the Padres' farm system went 3 for 4 with four RBIs, two runs, a double and a home run in his El Paso debut Thursday night at AutoZone Park in Memphis, Tennessee. The Crystal Springs, Mississippi, native plays in Memphis Friday and Saturday against 2007 MSU All-American Ed Easley and the Memphis Redbirds.
Playing for the Plymouth Pilgrims, Rooker earned second-team All-American honors after leading the New England Collegiate Baseball League in hits (59), runs scored (36), home runs (10) and RBIs (33). The slugger also finished third in batting average (.360) and games played (41) as well as tied for eighth in stolen bases (12). Following his time with the Pilgrims, Rooker was promoted to the Brewster Whitecaps and played four games in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League.
