McDonald Leads MSU To Another Top 10 Finish

Hilton Head, S.C.- Coming off a stellar second round Saturday, the Mississippi State women's golf team finished the Darius Rucker Invitational in seventh place, shooting 301 on the day. This marks the seventh tournament in a row the team has finished in the Top 10 of an event.
“We gave it all we had but fell short of the win,” MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said, “We have a lot to work on before our next tournament, but there is several good things to take away from this weekend.”
Leading the way for the team was All-American Ally McDonald. Finishing under par on her first nine holes, she ended the day two-over 73. The senior was able to fire a 73 all three days to place 13th. McDonald led the team with four birdies.
Also helping pave the way for MSU was Blaise Carabello, who shot a 74 on the day.
Senior Rica Tse and Sophomore Ji Eun Baik both fired a 77 in their final round of the tournament Sunday. The two finished tied for 47th and tied for 44th, respectively.
Despite a rough start, Jessica Peng was able to come back and finish the back nine strong. Peng carded a 9-over-par 80 and finished tied for 39th over all.
The Bulldogs resume play on March 27 at the LSU Tiger Classic to end regular season play.
