March 13, 2015 | Baseball
Starkville, Miss. – In a throwback to old Southeastern Conference days, No. 13 Mississippi State baseball will play a doubleheader against Alabama Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. at Dudy Noble Field. Friday's game was postponed one day due to the threat of inclement weather.
Saturday's forecast is cloudy with temperatures in the upper 60s and no rain.
Tickets to Friday's game will be honored at Saturday's double dip, with Saturday's chairback tickets taking precedence over Friday's chairback tickets. All Friday chairback tickets will be considered general admission tickets Saturday. Game two of the DH will begin 35 minutes following the conclusion of game one.
Friday's giveaway of baseballs commemorating the 125th season of Diamond Dawg baseball will take place Saturday prior to game one. The first 500 fans entering the first base gate will receive the giveaway. Gates open at 11 a.m.
Since 2012, Mississippi State has played in 13 home doubleheaders, owning a league-best 23 wins during that span (23-3 overall, 3-1 SEC). In its last conference twin bill against the Crimson Tide at The Dude, the Maroon and White swept the doubleheader by scores of 10-6 and 5-4 (May 4, 2013).
