MSU Ranked No. 10 In Latest USA Today Coaches Poll

STARKVILLE, Miss. – A day after staying in the Associated Press Top 10, the Mississippi State women's basketball team also remained in the Top 10 of the USA Today Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 10.
Vic Schaefer's squad claimed its 22nd-straight week in the poll, including a third-consecutive week in the Top 10.
After suffering its first setback of the season at No. 6 Texas on Wednesday, MSU bounced back with an 82-54 win against Tennessee State on Sunday to improve to 6-1 on the season.
State used a strong second half to claim its 21st-straight win against an unranked non-conference foe and its SEC second-best 11th-straight win at Humphrey Coliseum.
The Bulldogs are one of three SEC teams in the Top 10 of this week's poll, joining South Carolina (No. 2) and Kentucky (No. 8). Tennessee fell out of the Top 10 to No. 15, while Texas A&M dropped five spots to No. 16.
MSU returns to the court Sunday, traveling to Ruston, La., for a 3 p.m. tip at Louisiana Tech. State returns to Humphrey Coliseum on Dec. 16 for a 7 p.m. start against in-state foe Southern Mississippi.
