
Bulldogs Remain No. 9 In Associated Press Poll

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State remained in the Top 10 of the Associated Press Poll for the fourth-straight week, holding at No. 9 in Monday's ranking.
The Bulldogs responded from a six-point setback at now-No. 5 Texas on Wednesday with an 82-54 win against Tennessee State on Sunday. The victory improved MSU to 6-1 on the season.
State used a strong second half to claim its 21st-straight win against an unranked non-conference foe. Mississippi State notched its 23rd-consecutive week in the poll.
The Bulldogs joined South Carolina (No. 2) and Kentucky (No. 8) in the Top 10. Texas A&M fell three spots to No. 15, while Tennessee dropped eight positions to 16th.
Vic Schaefer's squad continues to top the nation in scoring defense (41.9 ppg), scoring margin (+43.4), turnover margin (14.7) and turnovers forced (27.7).
The Bulldogs break for final exams before returning to the road Sunday for a 3 p.m. start at Louisiana Tech. State returns to Humphrey Coliseum on Dec. 16 for a 7 p.m. start against in-state foe Southern Mississippi.
