
MSU No. 9 In AP Poll; Hosts Hail State Hoops Luncheon Tuesday

STARKVILLE, Miss. – A 30-point road victory at Louisiana Tech Sunday earned Mississippi State a fifth-straight week in the Top 10 of the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
The Bulldogs, who improved to 7-1 on the season, stayed at No. 9 in their 24th-straight week in the poll.
The ranking comes a day before the Bulldogs host their annual Christmas Hail State Hoops Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Mize Pavilion.
Cost for the luncheon is $12. Fans can RSVP for the event, which includes a special Christmas presentation by the Bulldogs, by phone (662.325.0198) or email (dbrown@athletics.msstate.edu).
Fans who RSVP will be automatically entered to win Hail State Hoops door prizes.
Tuesday's luncheon will recap the season to date, including Sunday's 93-63 win at Louisiana Tech on Sunday.
MSU, one of three SEC teams in the Top 10, handed the Lady Techsters their second-largest home defeat in school history and scored its most road points since 2001.
The Top 10 remained unchanged, with South Carolina staying at No. 2 and Kentucky just ahead of the Bulldogs at No. 8.
Tennessee moved up two places to 14th, while Texas A&M fell three spots to No. 18.
The Bulldogs seek to keep the stellar start of the year going Wednesday when they host in-state foe Southern Miss in a 7 p.m. tip at Humphrey Coliseum.
