
MSU Earns Second Top 10 AP Ranking In Program History

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Hail State Hoops is in the Top 10.
The Mississippi State women's basketball team made the program's second Top-10 appearance Monday, moving up one place to No. 10 following the opening weekend of the 2015-16 season.
State's only other Top 10 appearance came March 3, 2003, when that squad also claimed the No. 10 spot.
The Bulldogs earned the Top-10 ranking and 19th-straight week in the poll after opening the season with a 68-47 win against Samford last Friday.
Junior Dominique Dillingham paced the Bulldogs with her first-career double-double, 13 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Jazzmun Holmes, a Gulfport, Mississippi native, had a stellar debut, notching 12 points and five steals in the 21-point victory.
Reigning SEC Coach of the Year Vic Schaefer's squad is one of three SEC teams in the Top 10, joining No. 2 South Carolina and No. 4 Tennessee.
Texas A&M advanced one place to 12th, while Kentucky climbed five places to No. 13.
The No. 10 Bulldogs return to action Saturday, Nov. 21, hosting Grambling in a 1 p.m. tip at Humphrey Coliseum that will be broadcast on SEC Network +.
