First Hail State Hoops Luncheon Wednesday; Nov. 21 Tip Time Set
November 10, 2015 | Women's Basketball
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Fans can recap Mississippi State's exhibition contest against Mississippi College and look ahead to Friday's season opener Wednesday during the Bulldogs' first Hail State Hoops Luncheon of the season.
The luncheon was moved to Wednesday out of respect for Thursday's memorial service for Keith Joseph, Jr. and his father, Keith Joseph, Sr.
It was also announced Tuesday that MSU's Nov. 21 contest against Grambling will tip at 1 p.m. The contest will be broadcast online and via the WatchESPN app on SEC Network +, as well as the MSU Radio Network.
Wednesday's luncheon, featuring hoops discussion with SEC Coach of the Year Vic Schaefer, his players and staff, begins at 11:30 a.m. in Mize Pavilion.
Fans can get more information or RSVP by phone at (662) 325-0198 or email at dbrown@athletics.msstate.edu.
The guest speaker for the season-opening luncheon will be first-year Bulldog volleyball coach David McFatrich.
Cost is $12 per luncheon or $70 for all seven. Fans who sign up for the luncheon bundle will automatically be registered for the chance to win door prizes.
Mississippi State, ranked No. 11 in the Associated Press preseason poll and No. 13 by USA Today, hosted Mississippi College in a Tuesday exhibition. The Bulldogs officially begin the season Nov. 13 against Samford at 5:15 p.m. as part of a men's-women's doubleheader.
Since Friday's opener is part of a doubleheader, all fans will need a ticket for both contests. For just $15, fans can purchase a ticket that will be good for both games of the doubleheader. Those tickets are available now at HailState.com/tickets, by phone at 1-888-GO-DAWGS or at the Humphrey Coliseum ticket office on game day.
Women's basketball season ticket holders will have priority for the opening game. Those fans will be able to stay for the men's contest, but are asked to relocate to empty seats.
Men's basketball parking will also be in effect for Friday's contests, with Palmeiro Center, Sanderson Center, Howell, MacArthur Hall and soccer field parking lots being reserved. Extra golf cart shuttles will be available to transport fans to the Hump.
The Gameday parking assistance center phone line (662-325-9114) will be available starting a 4 p.m. to assist with parking information and dispatching carts.
