
Sanchez Picks Up A Win At Futures Event

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Freshman Lucas Sanchez advanced to the third round of qualifiers at the Player's Choice Open on Saturday, capping the second day of action from the Highland Parks Tennis Center in Birmingham, Ala.
Sanchez defeated Camilo Patino, 6-3, 6-0, a day removed from winning via walkover against Vincent Sun. The freshman will face Matheus Chaim on Sunday.
Freshman Niclas Braun earned a bye for the opening round, but fell in the second round, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, to Grey Hamilton.
Junior Rishab Agarwal qualified for the main draw before the start of the event, as he awaits his first match of the tournament on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs will continue their time in futures events after wrapping up in Birmingham, to Niceville, Fla., on Nov. 6-13.
