October 03, 2015 | Women's Golf
Boerne, Texas – Fresh off the Schooner Fall Classic in Oklahoma where Mississippi State placed third, the Bulldogs now turn their attention to the Jim West Challenge in Texas.
The tournament will be held at the beautiful Tapatio Springs Resort in Borne, Texas. The course has undergone recent renovations on most of the greens and features new tee boxes and bunkers, which will make the already top-notch course even better.
“We look forward to getting to a different region and competing with strong teams like Texas, Texas Tech and Texas A&M. They are very good programs, and we look forward to the competition,” MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. “We have several of our players striking the ball really well right now and our practice was spot on this week, I look for us to have a pretty good event.”
The tournament field includes 15 of the nation's top teams.
Representing the Bulldogs this week are juniors Jessica Peng, Ji Eun Baik, Izel Pieters, along with freshmen Elsa Moberly and Bianca Theron.
Competing as an individual will be freshman Katie Holt, who will be making her colligate debut.
The Bulldogs tee off Sunday and conclude the 54-hole event on Tuesday. Live stats will be provided via Birdiefire.com and @hailstateWG on twitter.
