October 29, 2015 | Men's Tennis
STARKVILLE, Miss. – After capping its fall collegiate season, Mississippi State will send three participants to Birmingham on Friday for the USTA Futures.
MSU will send freshmen Niclas Braun and Lucas Sanchez for qualifying competition, while junior Rishab Agarwal will play in the main draw on Tuesday.
“We love to give our players these great opportunities to compete in futures,” MSU coach Matt Roberts said. “If they do good in school we like to reward them with two or three futures in the fall. This will be another chance to work on the individual aspects of their games as well.”
Future competitions are no stranger to Agarwal, who advanced to the semifinal round of the Houston 15K Futures two weeks ago. The junior's ATP ranking allowed him to start in the main draw for the Birmingham Futures, while Braun will be only three spots shy of qualifying for main draws.
On Nov. 6-13, the Bulldogs will compete in another USTA Futures event as the Maroon and White travel to Niceville, Fla.
