October 25, 2015 | Men's Golf
Vero Beach, Fla – For the final tournament of the fall slate, the Mississippi State men's golf team travels to Florida to play in the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational looking to keep the momentum after its third-place finish at the Mountaineer Intercollegiate last weekend.
The two-day, 54-hole event tees off at 7:45 a.m. CT with 36 holes at the par 72 Quail Valley Golf Club.
“We are looking forward to finishing up our fall season on a high note this week at Quail Valley Golf Club,” MSU coach Clay Homan said. “The course is pretty generous off the tee but the greens are firm and the wind should be a factor.”
The 15-team field features 10 teams in the most recent Golfstat top 100 rankings. Hosted by McNeese State, the field includes UConn, Indiana, Jacksonville, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Michigan State, NC State, North Florida, North Texas, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, South Dakota State, West Virginia and 87th-ranked MSU.
The Bulldog lineup will be the exact same as the lineup that score thier best finish since 2014. Led by senior Ben Wood, the Bulldogs will look to rein in thier second-straight top-five finish.
“Last week's final round should give us an extra shot of confidence and hopefully will translate into some good scores,” Homan said.
