October 02, 2015 | Men's Tennis
STARKVILLE, Miss. – After almost a month off from the courts, the Mississippi State men's tennis team returns to the action for one of the biggest fall tournaments of the year as the Bulldogs compete at the 2015 ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
The 10-day event begins Saturday, Oct. 3, with pre-qualifying play. The qualifying rounds run from Oct. 5-7, concluding with the tournament's main draw, Oct. 8-12.
“Our guys are excited to get back to competition this weekend with the ITA All-American,” MSU head coach Matt Roberts said. “I think this is a great opportunity for our younger guys to gain more experience on the court and it allows each individual to develop their game at one of the biggest competitions of the fall season.”
Four Bulldogs will kick off the weekend in the pre-qualifying round. Freshmen Niclas Braun, Trevor Foshey and Lucas Sanchez will be joined by junior Vaughn Hunter to represent MSU in the opening draw.
Junior Rishab Agarwal will jump directly into the qualifying round, which follows pre-qualifying action on Saturday.
The University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center will be the host site for this year's tournament, making it the 11th-straight year for the facility. Singles quarterfinalists, doubles finalists and consolation champions will receive an automatic entry into the UTSA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Nov. 12-15, held at the UTSA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
Live video for each match at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center can be viewed at www.tulsahurricane.com, while updated draws and main draw recaps can be found at the ITA All-American Championship page.
