Track & Field Teams Conclude Day One Of Vanderbilt Invitational

Nashville, Tenn. – To conclude day one of the Vanderbilt Invitational, the Mississippi State track and field teams brought home six Top 10 finishes.
In the field, four Bulldogs represented MSU in the high jump. Freshman Logan Boss finished second after clearing 5-09.25, while teammate Abigail Dill finished ninth clearing 5-03.25. On the men's side, Chance Stephens finished eighth after clearing 6-04.75. Teammate Seth Peace cleared 6-04.75 to finish 10th.
"We had some quality finishes today," MSU coach Steve Dudley said. "We are constantly wanting to improve. This is a talented group of atheltes who have put in a lot of time and effort. I'd like to see us go out there strong tomorrow and continue to work hard."
Freshman Tiffany Flynn finished second in the long jump after a leap of 19-09.50.
Sasha-Gay Marston placed 19th in the weight throw after a toss of 49-00.75. Immediately following Marston in 20th place was Haley Reynolds with a throw of 48-08.25.
On the track senior Carmen Brothers and freshman Branden Nosker represented MSU in the 5000-meter run. Brothers finished 20th with a time of 18:27.41, while Nosker ran a time of 15:13.34 to finish 13th.
Also on the track, the distance medley relay team, made up of Emma Neigel, Kimari Martin, Marta Frietas and Mia Meydrich, brought home a fourth-place finish after running a time of 11:49.92.
The Bulldogs will resume action tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. Senior Emma Neigel and junior Madison Milhoan will start day two for the Bulldogs in the mile run.
