
Cash, Lakat Punch Ticket To Doubles Main Draw At ITA All-American

TULSA, Okla. – Despite being forced to a third-set super tiebreaker, the Mississippi State men's tennis duo of Julian Cash and Florian Lakat rallied back to punch their ticket to the doubles main draw on Wednesday at the 2014 ITA All-American Championships.
The MSU tandem took on the Ohio State team of Hunter Callahan and Chris Diaz with a trip to the main draw on the line. Cash and Lakat opened the match with a 6-4 win in the first set, but the Buckeye duo would fire back, pushing the match to a deciding third frame with a 7-6(4) win.
Wednesday's match would be decided in a first-to-10, winner-take-all super tiebreaker. Cash and Lakat would jump out in front early, maintaining their lead to take the set and the match, 6-4, 6-7(4), 1-0(5).
The Bulldog pair will take on Oklahoma State's third-ranked and third-seeded pair of Arjun Kadhe and Jakob Sude in the opening round of main draw play, which starts Thursday, Oct. 2. The MSU, Oklahoma State clash is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. CT.
Lakat will also be in action on the singles court, as he will participate in the 64-player draw. Ranked 36th nationally, he will face off against Southern California's second-ranked and second-seeded Yannick Hanfmann in a match that is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
