Lakat Falls In Qualifying Finals At USTA Pensacola Futures
October 29, 2013 | Men's Tennis
PENSACOLA, Fla. – Play at the 2013 USTA Pensacola Futures has come to an end for the Mississippi State men's tennis squad, as freshman Florian Lakat dropped his qualifying finals match to eighth-seeded Patrick Daciek on Monday.
Daciek jumped out in front to start the match, taking the first set 6-1. However, Lakat would battle back-and-forth with Daciek, trying to force a deciding third set. Despite a tough fight from the Paris, France, native, Lakat fell 6-1, 7-5, eliminating him from play at the USTA Futures event.
The Bulldogs' attention will now turn to their final USTA Futures event of the season, the 2013 Pro Circuit Championships in Niceville, Fla., which begins Friday, Nov. 1.
