
Stropp Falls To End MSU?s Run At USTA Players? Choice Open

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After an impressive run through the 2013 USTA Players' Choice Open, Mississippi State men's tennis senior Malte Stropp fell to former ITA three-time All-American Evan King in the round of 16.
Stropp and King battled back-and-forth in Thursday's battle, but eigth-seeded King found the upperhand, eliminating Stropp with a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
The loss concludes play for the Bulldogs at the Players' Choice Open. State will now turn its attention to Pensacola, Fla., for the 2013 Pensacola Futures Championship. The second USTA event for the Bulldogs begins Friday, Oct. 25 with qualifying play.
