Angus, Stropp Dominate Day Two At USTA Players? Choice Open

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Day two of the 2013 USTA Players' Choice Open brought another pair of victories for the Mississippi State men's tennis squad, as Malte Stropp and Jordan Angus moved on to the third round of qualifying play Saturday.
Matches at the Players' Choice Open, held in Birmingham, Ala., ran late in a second round that was plagued by rain for most of the day. Stropp, one of two MSU seniors, earned his second-straight shutout, defeating Parrish Preston 6-0, 6-0. Angus also moved on to the third round with a 6-3, 6-1 victory against Alexandre Latychev.
Stropp and Angus now stand two wins away from advancing to the main draw of the Players' Choice Open, which begins Tuesday, Oct. 22.
