Straight-Sets Victory Sends Stropp To ITA Southern Regional Final

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Another day produced another victory Sunday as Mississippi State men's tennis senior Malte Stropp downed William Kallberg of rival Ole Miss to advance to the singles final of the 2013 USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships.
Stropp, ranked 40th nationally and the tourney's No. 3 seed, picked up his third straight-set victory of the tournament, and his fifth win of the fall, by downing the 65th-ranked and fifth-seeded Kallberg 6-4, 6-4.
The win sets up a championship showdown against Ole Miss' No. 7-ranked and top-seeded Nik Scholtz Monday. Also, with a win Monday Stropp will advance to the 2013 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in Flushing, N.Y., Nov. 7-10.
