State Completes Opening Day Of Bancorp South Intercollegiate

MSU stands at 14th among the field and are 12-strokes outside of the top 10. 18th-ranked Florida leads the field with a 15-under-par score followed by host-school Ole Miss and No. 22 nationally ranked North Florida, to round out the top three.
The Bulldogs were led by junior Evan Hugall who was making his third appearance for State this season. Hugall matched par on every hole in the opening round for a first-round score of 72 followed by a 4-over-par 76 in round two.
State has three players tied for second on the team with sophomores Brad Thompson, Lee Heaton and true freshman Robi Calvesbert all posting 150s on the opening day of play. Thompson and Heaton both notched consecutive 75s in the first two-rounds, while Calvesbert led MSU in the third round with a 73 and is State's leader in birdies made with six through two rounds.
Sophomore Brooks Bankhead rounds out the Bulldog lineup with a two-round score of 161.
