Lady Bulldogs Conclude Round One At Rebel Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss. - The Mississippi State's women's golf club wrapped up opening round action at the Rebel Intercollegiate with a score of 318 and currently stands at 19th place. MSU is led by junior Erika Thornton's 76 first round score, her best opening round this spring.
Thornton sits in a tie for 33rd place, shooting just four shots over par. Fellow junior Mallory Batson is two shots back with a 78 and tied in 52nd place. Senior Gina Sharp and sophomore Perry Katherine Furr both fired 82s, tying for 90th place. Senior Leigh Phillips, competing as an individual, finished the round with an 81 for an 81st place tie.
Tulane, ranked no. 32 nationally, currently holds the top spot on the leader board with a 2-over-par 290. East Tennessee State stands two strokes back with a 292 for second place. Host school Ole Miss is tied at the third spot with Missouri, shooting 294s. Tulane's Linn Gustafsson sits atop the individual leader board, firing a 70 and two-under-par.
