Lady Bulldogs Finish Day Two At LSU Tiger/Wave Classic

Junior Mallory Batson continues to lead State's squad, firing an 82 on the day and now in a tie for 65th place. Fellow junior Erika Thornton improved in the second round with a team-best 79, and her two-day total stands at 162. Senior Leigh Phillips returned in a big way by improving nine shots from the opening round, totaling a 169 through two rounds. Phillips two-round totals is tied with fellow senior Gina Sharp. Freshman Maria Roos completed the second round with a 91.
Second-ranked Auburn rebounded in the second round, firing a 296 and is tied with 20th-ranked LSU for the lead. Both teams have a two-day total of 601. No. 27 TCU holds third place in the tournament with a score of 603. Seventh-ranked Alabama dropped a few spots, but still sits comfortably in fourth place with a 608 and 18th-ranked Virginia rounds out the top five after posting a 315 for the day, taking their two-day total to 611.
