October 07, 2010 | Men's Tennis
Before his consolation match, Cant dropped a tough match to Virginia's Drew Courtney who is ranked 27th in the country. Despite two lengthy sets that ended in tiebreakers, 7-6(3), 7-6(5), Courtney outlasted Cant in the first round of the main draw.
"I am really happy that Louis (Cant) bounced back after a match where he wasn't happy with how he played," Coach Per Nilsson said. "He played better in his consolation match and stayed focused the entire second match and it showed with how he played."
In doubles action, the Bulldog tandem of George Coupland and Zach White dropped a tiebreaking match to No. 23 ranked Emanual Brighiu and Chris Price of TCU, 9-8(3).
