
Four MSU Athletes Lead The Pack After Day One Of Multievents At Alabama Relays

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.-Mississippi State men's and women's track team had an impressive showing at the first day of the Alabama Relays.
“In all we had a great day today,” head coach Al Schmidt said. “I was really impressed with the first day of the [Alabama] relays from both the men and women.”
In the heptathlon, senior Marrissa Harris regionally qualified in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.68 seconds. Harris ended day one of the heptathlon in first place with 3,334 points. Not far behind was junior LaQuinta Aaron who is currently third with a total of 3,203 points.
In the decathlon, senior Darryl Brady is in second place with 3,682 points after five events scored. Freshman Trevarus Christian had a remarkable opening day scoring 3,618 points, and is currently ranked third.
“We wanted to get Christian's feet wet today and he ended up having a great day,” Schmidt said. “In all, today went well and we are looking forward to tomorrow.”
The Alabama Relays will continue tomorrow with the conclusion of the heptathlon and decathlon beginning at 9:30 a.m
