COLUMBUS, Ga. ? No. 25 Mississippi State's remaining games in the 2009 NFCA Leadoff Classic have been cancelled by a storm system that dumped nearly three inches of rain on the Columbus, Ga., area since Friday afternoon.

State fell 7-0 to No. 20 Ohio State in its only action of the weekend. Head coach Jay Miller's squad had its eight-game win streak halted to move to 11-3 overall on the season.

The Bulldog softball team makes its inaugural trip to Hawaii next weekend to compete in the Malihini Tournament. State opens play Mar. 5 with a twin bill against Florida Gulf Coast and Santa Clara. The Maroon and White also faces Oregon State, Hawaii, Mount St. Mary's and Radford in the field.
