LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Mississippi State's women's golf team concluded the second round of the Prices Give Em Five Invitational today with a team total of 636, remaining ranked 18th overall.
Sophomore Perry Katherine Furr tied her career-low round with today's 73-stroke effort and now stands tied for 59th individually and second on the team. Senior Gina Sharp currently leads the team with a two-round total of 155 and is tied for 53rd. Juniors Erika Thornton and Mallory Batson have tallied scores of 161 and 164, respectively, followed by freshman Morgan McQuary's 169.
Playing as an individual, Leigh Phillips stands tied for 59th with a two-round total of 156.
Idaho utilized the tournament's second round to jump last year's champion UC-Irvine for first place, as the Vandals have a two-round total of 583, one stroke better than second-placed UC-Irvine. Yesterday's third and fourth-placed teams, Fresno State and San Diego State, now stand tied for third with team totals of 595. Baylor now holds fifth place alone, two strokes behind third.
MSU will begin the final round at 9:00 a.m. CT Sunday.
