GREENSBORO, N.C. ? Junior Gina Sharp and sophomore Mallory Batson stand tied at 22nd overall individually after two rounds at the Starmount Forest Country Club. Each golfer has recorded a score of 153 after two days of competition, while as a team State ranks tied for 14th with a 631.
Sophomore Erika Thornton has a score of 157 (tied for 43rd overall individually), while senior Jillian Jones has recorded a 168 thus far. Junior Suzanne Stanley rounds out State's scorecard with a 172.
Host UNC-Greensboro passed former leader East Carolina for the lead after two rounds, taking a two-stroke lead. UNC-Wilmington remained at third, three strokes behind the leader, while Georgia State and Florida International round out the tournament's top five. East Carolina's Abby Bools holds a comfortable lead in the individual standings, three strokes ahead of second at 1-over-par.
Mississippi State tees it up beginning at 8:54 a.m. CT on Tuesday for the final round of action.
