
No. 9 LSU Too Strong For Lady Bulldogs

? Official Statistics BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Quianna Chaney scored 14 of her 16 points in the first half to help No. 9 LSU rout Mississippi State 84-31 on Sunday.
It was the Lady Tigers' largest-ever margin of victory in Southeastern Conference play. LSU (14-3, 3-0 SEC) started fast, hitting their first five shots and jumping out to a 9-0 lead.
Mississippi State (12-6, 0-3) hit their first field goal with 17:18 left in the first half, but LSU then built a 22-point lead during the next eight minutes through a 17-2 run.
LSU's victory gives it a 37-4 series advantage, including a 19-0 mark against the Lady Bulldogs at home. Mississippi State's most recent win against LSU came Jan. 10, 1995.
The Lady Tigers shot a season-high 65.2 percent from the floor. On defense, LSU held Mississippi State to 14.3 percent shooting.
LSU finished off a quick 11-0 spurt with 2:33 left in the first half and took a 48-15 lead at the break.
The Lady Tigers continued their dominance in the second half, outscoring Mississippi State, 36-16. Alexis Rack scored seven points, going 3-for-18 from the field, to lead Mississippi State. LSU made 27-of-36 free throws.
