Lady Bulldogs Stay In Tie For Eighth At Wildcat Fall Invitational

Lexington, Ky. - The Mississippi State women's golf squad stayed in a tie for eighth at the Wildcat Fall Invitational after a round of 307 in the second round on Sunday. MSU has a two round total of 618 and stands seven strokes out of sixth place.
Leading State on Sunday in the second round was true freshman Mallory Batson, who fired a career-best 70 and moved from a tie for 43rd to a tie for 11th. Freshman Erika Thornton stands in a tie for 27th with a 153. Gina Sharp stands in a tie for 48th with a 158, while Julia Huh is in a tie for 51st with a 159. Sophomore Suzanne Stanley stands in a tie for 54th with a 161.
Alabama held onto the team lead, firing a 290 on Sunday and stands five strokes ahead of Florida. In the individual competition, Florida's Whitney Myers fired a 67 in the second round and leads by one stroke.
The final round of the Wildcat Fall Invitational will begin at 8:30 a.m. CT at the Big Blue Course. Live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com.
