MSU In Tie For Eighth At Wildcat Fall Invitational

Lexington, Ky. - The Mississippi State women's golf team shot a 311 on the opening day of the Wildcat Fall Invitational on Saturday and stand in a tie for eighth with two rounds to play at UK's Big Blue Course.
Leading the Lady Bulldogs through the first 18 holes was freshman Erika Thornton who fired a 2-over 74, and stands in a tie for 13th. Julia Huh, Mallory Batson and Suzanne Stanley all stand in a tie for 43rd after rounds of 79 in the opening round. Sophomore Gina Sharp sits in a tie for 48th after shooting an 80 on Saturday.
In the team competition, it was Alabama who took the early lead. The Crimson Tide shot a 292 and leads Florida by three strokes. Alabama's Courtney Harter leads the individual race by two strokes after a first-round 67.
Play will resume on Sunday at 9 a.m. CT with the second round, followed by the third round which will begin Monday at 8:30 a.m. CT. Live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com.
