Lady Bulldogs Conclude Fall Play At Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ? The Mississippi State women's golf team concluded fall play Sunday, shooting a 311 in the final round of the Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate, held at the Northriver Yacht Club Golf Course in Tuscaloosa, Ala. As a team, the Lady Bulldogs finished the tournament in a tie for 15th.
Leading State in the final round was senior Julia Huh. The Pasadena, Md., native fired a 72 on Sunday and finished the tournament in a tie for 54th. MSU's top finisher was freshman Erika Thornton who concluded play in a tie for 28th with a three-round score of 228. Sophomore Suzanne Stanley finished in a tie for 61st with a 235 while freshman Mallory Batson finished in a tie for 75th with a 239. Sophomore Gina Sharp finished the weekend with a 244 in her fourth tournament this fall.
Arkansas held onto its team lead thru the final round to claim the team title by eight strokes over Auburn. Stacy Lewis of Arkansas claimed the individual crown, edging out Notre Dame's So-Hyun Park by two strokes.
State's first action in the spring will come Feb. 17-19 at the Papa John's Collegiate in Miami Florida.
