Bulldog Netmen Conclude Play At ITA Southeast Region Indoors

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Mississippi State's men's tennis team concluded play Saturday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Southeast Region Indoor Championships in Lexington, Ky. State's 40th-ranked Philippe Frayssinoux fell in singles main-draw action while other bulldogs fell in consolation singles and doubles.
Frayssinoux dropped his fourth-round match to Alabama's 97th-ranked Mathieu Thibaudeau 7-6, 7-6 to end his run through the main draw. The loss was only the third this fall for Frayssinoux. In main-draw doubles action early on Saturday, Frayssinoux, along with Pjotr Necajev fell 8-6 to Georgia State's pair of Nejc Podkrajsek and Anze Cevka.
In consolation action on Saturday, State's Ryan Farlow opened with a win over Renan Silveira of Samford when Silveira defaulted with Farlow leading 5-0. In the second round however, Farlow dropped a close 6-4, 7-6 decision to Jeremy Tweedt of Tennessee. Two other Bulldogs also fell in consolation action on Saturday. Sophomore Chris Doerr fell 6-1, 6-1 to Samford's Jordan Delass while freshman Maximilien Genuini dropped a 6-4, 2-6, 1-0(7) match to Kentucky's Will Beck.
State will conclude its fall schedule next weekend, as they travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to compete in the Alabama Invitational.
