K.L. "Jimmy" Spurlock

K.L. “Jimmy” Spurlock lettered four years in track and football at Mississippi A&M from 1913-17.
Playing under Coaches W.D. Chadwick and E.C. Hayes, Spurlock starred on the gridiron and was named to the All-Southern Team twice. The football program, then referred to as the “Aggies,” compiled a record of 21-9-3 during his career in the Maroon and White while going undefeated against Alabama and Ole Miss. He was captain of the 1916 squad.
Spurlock also made his mark in track, setting a hammer throw school record in 1915 of 130 feet, 7 inches.
