State Checks In At No. 25 In Perfect Game Preseason Poll

STARKVILLE, Miss. – With four Preseason All-American honors already having rolled in for Mississippi State, the Bulldogs are also receiving preseason rankings in the national polls as MSU was listed No. 25 in Perfect Game's Preseason Poll.
On Dec. 19, State was ranked No. 13 in the Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll. When it comes to Preseason All-American honors, Konnor Pilkington has received two (Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game second team), while Jake Mangum (Perfect Game third team) and Spencer Price (Collegiate Baseball third team) have each received one.
Coming off a 2017 season that included a 40-27 record and a NCAA Regional Championship in the first year of Andy Cannizaro's tenure, Cannizaro and his club will open the 2018 season with a 12-game road trip, beginning Friday, Feb. 16 against Southern Miss in Hattiesburg.
Fans will have the opportunity to meet the 2018 Diamond Dawgs at the Opening Night Banquet on January 13. Additional information about the event, including ticket prices can be found here.
