STARKVILLE, Miss. – One day after Mississippi State pitchers Konnor Pilkington and Spencer Price were named Preseason All-Americans by Collegiate Baseball, the publication has the Diamond Dawgs ranked No. 13 in its preseason poll.
Coming off a 2017 season that included a 40-27 record and a NCAA Regional Championship, head coach Andy Cannizaro has high expectations for his club with the return of some injured arms and additional reinforcements that will help State compete for the Southeastern Conference crown and more in the upcoming spring.
With construction in progress on the $55 million new Dudy Noble Field, Cannizaro and the Diamond Dawgs will open the season with a 12-game road trip, beginning Friday, Feb. 16 against Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Fans will have the opportunity to meet the 2018 Diamond Dawgs at the Opening Night Banquet on January 13. Additional information about the event, including ticket prices can be found here.
