The Bulldogs dialed up back-to-back-to-back NCAA Tournament trips for the third time in program history with the last time coming in 2002-03, 2003-04 and 2004-05.
State checked in among the Associated Press Top 25 during each of those first three seasons and climbed to as high as No. 14 in 2024-25. The Bulldogs also piled up 10 victories over AP Top 25 opponents in 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 which marked the most in program history over a three-year span.
Days landed ESPN top 100 recruit, Jayden Epps, out of the transfer portal for the 2025-26 season. He paired with Josh Hubbard as State’s top scoring duo in over four decades. Days also served as the lead recruiter for commit Willie Burnett III, who ranks No. 74 in ESPN’s Class of 2026.
Days, one of the nation’s up-and-coming coaches, has already gained valuable coaching experience with over a decade of service as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division I level. He has played an integral role in several aspects for all the program’s he has worked for which include player development, scouting and recruiting.
At State, Days was bumped up to assistant coach leading into the 2024-25 season after he served as the program’s director of recruiting during his first two seasons.
Prior to State, Days spent the 2021-22 season at East Tennessee State and worked at Coastal Carolina for Cliff Ellis from 2017-18 to 2020-21 where the Chanticleers captured a pair of postseason berths and a trip to the 2021 CBI Finals.
During his Coastal Carolina tenure, Days saw the Chanticleers ranked among the NCAA’s top 30 three times in rebounds per game, three times in rebounding margin, twice in field goal percentage defense and twice in offensive rebounds per game.

Days’ top recruit at Coastal Carolina was DeVante’ Jones, a 1,000-point scorer, who captured the 2020-21 Sun Belt Player of the Year accolades. He also was a Lou Henson Player of the Year finalist, which is presented annually to the nation’s top mid-major player.
Days made a pair of one-year stops at Wright State (2015-16) on Billy Donlon’s staff and Southern Utah (2016-17) on Todd Simon’s staff. He earned his first NCAA Division I assistant coaching job at Abilene Christian (2013-14, 2014-15) working for Joe Golding where he spent two seasons as the program’s recruiting coordinator.
Days possesses experience at the prep level where he was an assistant coach under Rex Morgan at the highly accomplished Arlington Country Day School (2012-13) in Jacksonville, Florida and at Mack Prep (2011-12) working with William Sparrow located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Days got his start in the coaching profession as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, New Orleans (2009-10), before he moved onto Charlotte (2010-11) as a Director of Player Development.
Days has roots in the state of Mississippi as a prep player at Piney Woods High School. His collegiate playing career included stops at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Caldwell Community College in Hudson, North Carolina before he returned to Louisiana at the University of New Orleans.
