Justin Weiss joined Mississippi State’s staff in the summer of 2025 after working under Brian O’Connor for two seasons a Virginia.
Weiss was hired as a scouting and operations assistant in the fall of 2023 before being promoted to director of baseball operations the following year. During his first season at Virginia, he helped the Cavaliers reach the College World Series.
The Summit, New Jersey native began his coaching career in his home state working for Locked In Baseball in Morris Knolls, where he focused on data and analytics to help elevate high school players.
Weiss played collegiately at Lafayette College where he hit .360 for his career as a catcher and earned a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll twice. He graduated from Lafayette College in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in government and law with a minor in history.
