Dr. Quincy Davis, Assistant Director of Counseling and Sport Psychology, was hired in July 2023. Dr. Davis’ background is rooted in both mental health and school counseling, specializing in providing both mental health and mental performance services to student-athletes. His professional interests include mindfulness, performance anxiety, emotion regulation, stress management, athlete transition/adjustment, diversity, equity and inclusion, and BIPOC mental health. Dr. Davis believes in a holistic approach, striving to provide a brave space for athletes built upon strong relationships, open communication and transparency.
Dr. Davis earned a master’s degree in counseling with a school counseling emphasis from Northern State and a doctorate degree in sport and performance psychology from Western States. Dr. Davis is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and is currently a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor in Mississippi.
