Held opponents to .281 batting average ... Also saw 23 at-bats on the campaign in which she collected three RBIsingle in State’s doubleheader sweep of Middle Tennessee State ... Struck out one and allowed just five hits and three earned runs in two appearances against #10 Georgia ... Allowed just three hits in two relief appearances against #11 LSU.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2005)
Saw action in 10 games from the circle with all 10 coming in a relief role ... Turned in a 0-0 record and a 9.66 ERA in 16.2 innings pitched with four strikeouts and 10 walks ... Held opponents to .378 batting average ... Also saw four pinch hit at-bats on the campaign in which she collected a key RBIsingle in State’s three-run comeback win over Kentucky in the series finale ... Struck out a pair and allowed just four hits and a lone earned run in two appearances against #13 Georgia, including just one hit in four innings of shutout ball against the Red and Black in the back half of the doubleheader ... Allowed just one hit in a one-inning relief appearance against #6 Tennessee.
AS A FRESHMAN (2004)
Saw action in 15 games from the circle ... Earned the start one time and tallied one complete game (1.000) ... Turned in a 1-0 record and a 4.42 ERA in 25.1 innings pitched with 25 strikeouts and 10 walks ... Also collected four combined shutouts ... Held opponents to .282 batting average ... Limited to relief appearances for much of the season, but collected first collegiate start against Jackson State (2/7), striking out six and allowing two unearned runs in a 25-2 victory ... Collected longest outing since her start in game against Mississippi Valley State (2/22), striking out five and walking one in four innings of work ... Picked up first collegiate save against Alabama A&M (2/22), striking out three and allowing just one hit in two innings of work ... Picked up her second save of the season hours later against Mississippi Valley State.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB
Prepped at John Overton High School for coaches Don Schrope and Corene Minchin ... Played club softball for the Lady Bombers and coach Dave Hazzard ... The district Pitcher of the Year and District Tournament MVP, Hickerson helped lead her prep squad to three consecutive sub-state appearances, as well as a state tournament appearance as a junior ... An all-midstate and all-district selection as well, Hickerson was named her team’s MVP after posting a 12-8 record and an 0.89 ERA as a senior with 20 complete games and five shutouts ... Also struck out more than 10 batters per game (191 K’s) and held opponents to a .192 batting average.
