Tonny Trocha-Morelos starts his first season as a fellow on the Mississippi State men’s basketball staff in 2026-27.
Recently, Trocha-Morelos wrapped up a five-year international professional career which spanned five countries. He played in his native Colombia in addition to Argentina, Bulgaria, Hong Kong and Sweden.
Trocha-Morelos is no stranger to the SEC where he saw action in 132 career games at Texas A&M from 2014-15 to 2017-18 playing for Billy Kennedy. The Aggies amassed 87 victories highlighted by a pair of NCAA Sweet 16 trips and the 2015-16 SEC regular season championship where A&M set a program single-season mark with 28 wins.
Troca-Morelos came away with 791 points and 527 rebounds fueled by 31 outings in double figures. He was a four-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection and earned a spot on the 2017-18 SEC Community Service Team.
Troca-Morelos graduated with his bachelor’s degree in university studies business from Texas A&M in 2018. He is pursuing a Master’s in sport pedagogy at Mississippi State.
