Jalen Gibbs is set to begin his first season as a fellow on the Mississippi State men’s basketball staff in 2026-27.
Gibbs racked up 1262 points, 466 rebounds, 163 assists and 86 steals over his five-year collegiate career that featured stops at Drake (2017-18), Mount St. Mary’s (2018-19 • 2019-20 • 2020-21) and Jacksonville State (2021-22).
Gibbs had the opportunity to play in pair of NCAA Tournaments during his last two seasons. Jacksonville State amassed a 21-11 record, won the 2021-22 Atlantic Sun regular season and tournament titles en route to its ticket to NCAA March Madness coached by Ray Harper, while Mount St. Mary’s appeared in the 2020-21 NCAA Tournament First Four under Dan Engelstad.
Gibbs played professional basketball in Germany (2022-23) and Australia (2023-24) before he spent the last two seasons as the head coach at his high school alma mater, North Point (2024-25 • 2025-26), in Waldorf, Maryland. He was the Maryland 4A Player of the Year as a senior and left as the school’s all-time leading scorer.
Gibbs earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Mount St. Mary’s in 2021.
