Dylan Sortillo has joined the Mississippi State men’s basketball staff for his first season as director of operations for Coach Jans in 2026-27.
Sortillo has climbed the ranks as a director of operations at Illinois-Chicago (2023-24) and Dartmouth (2025-26) in addition to serving as an assistant coach at Florida SouthWestern State College (2024-25), a graduate assistant coach at Illinois-Chicago (2022-23) and an assistant coach at his alma mater, Augustana College (2020-21 • 2021-22).
At Dartmouth, he led the daily operation of the program which included managing practice times, budget, game scheduling, alumni events, youth camps, compliance, travel and nutrition. He also assisted with the team’s offensive operation and game-planning.
The Big Green posted improvements in offensive efficiency and three-point field percentage from the previous season.
Prior to his time in college athletics, Sortillo worked as an account executive for the Arizona Diamondbacks in Major League Baseball.
Sortillo’s playing career was highlighted by 105 victories where he piled up 1,075 career points at Augustana College under Greg Giovanine from 2015-18. The Vikings appeared in a quartet NCAA Division III Tournaments fueled by 2015 and 2017 national runner-up finishes and captured four straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) titles.
Sortillo, a Bettendorf, Iowa native, earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in management and marketing from Augustana College in 2018.
