DeVaughn Gordon was hired on January 9, 2019, as an Assistant Football Strength and Conditioning Coach at Mississippi State. He assists with the design and implementation of football strength and conditioning.

Prior to being hired at MSU, he was an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at East Carolina University (August 2017 - January 2019). Â He assisted the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with the design and implementation of strength programs for football. Â He was also responsible for the design and implementation of strength programs for softball and track.

Prior to East Carolina, Gordon was an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at North Carolina Central University (May 2016 - August 2017). He assisted the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with football. He was part of the MEAC Conference Championship football team in 2016 that appeared in the HBCU National Championship Game (Celebration Bowl). Gordon was responsible for designing and implementing strength programs for men’s & women’s basketball, baseball, track, tennis and golf. He was part of the 2016-17 Regular Season/Conference Tournament Championship Team which also received a bid to the NCAA Tournament (men’s basketball).

A native of Wheeling, West Virginia, Gordon received his degree in Exercise Physiology from West Liberty University in 2014.

His certifications include: CSCCa-SCCC, NSCA-CSCS, USAW Level 1 and CPR/AED/First Aid.
