Dear Prospective Dance Team member,
Thank you for your interest in Mississippi State University and our dance team. At this time we are no longer offering tryout invites as we have started our tryout process. Clinics for the 2026-2027 season invites will be offered June through February. Tryout invites are only offered at clinics.Â

Q: What style of dance does the MSU dance team perform?
A: We perform hip-hop, game day pom, and game day jazz with a strong emphasis on traditions and entertaining the best fans in college athletics! See our Instagram for past in-game performances.
Q: Other than a strong performance at clinic and tryouts, what are you looking for in a recruit?
A:Â We are looking for well-rounded dancers and students. Mississippi State Spirit aims to build strong teams, athletes, and people. As a coaching staff, our top goal is to prepare you for post-college life as an adaptable, hard-working team player.
Q: How will I know if I’m invited to tryout?Â
A: You will receive a formal invitation via email from the MSU Spirit coaching staff.
